I think I’ve got the solution 1.get file gnutella.zip from here (click on the banner - click on download file - wait a few seconds ) and unzip it 2.go to directory C:\Documents And Settings\username\Application Data\LimeWire (where username is the name you use to login to your PC) and replace the existing file gnutela.net with that 3.restart limewire. piece of cake tell me if it works

Pieceofcake you are the man I've tried everything, add ports, parches, updates, disable firewall, nothing worked. Downloaded this file and, WaaaLa... it worked grate.

i just tested the file and unzipped it with winzip. the file is ok. try download it again and unzip it with winzip or alternative software (winrar, 7zip etc.) you can find them at the freeware section

What do you mean by unzipping it? And what do you mean by replacing it?
thanks man, worked a treat!! to elizabeth. when u download the file it is compressed or "zipped" u must uncompress (or unzip) it for the file to work. however if u have xp u should just be able to copy straight from the .zip to the location piece of cake mentioned and it should unzip the file for u and walla is working :D

there is no file to replace, I can only cut and paste it in on its own...no existing file...please help

I could not find the folder limewire so what I did was make my own and just put the file in there, wham it worked, I tried and tried for 4 hours and nothing, finally it worked!!!
I got as far as the Application Data folder. Once I opened this folder, I couldn't find my Limewire folder located within it. What's wrong here?
